LITOFANIE
“Litofania”, mostrare attraverso la pietra. Come la luce filtra tra le fessure delle rocce e ne rivela le venature segrete, così questa performance di Afra Ricci trasforma il gesto pittorico in un atto di emersione: ciò che è nascosto si lascia attraversare, generando immagini in dialogo con la luce e con il paesaggio che respira dietro il velo.
All’esterno della torre che veglia su Pennabilli, Afra vi invita a vivere la pittura come membrana porosa, soglia luminosa tra interno ed esterno, tra roccia e aria, tra materia e spirito. Il tessuto semitrasparente sospeso diventa un velo sospeso nel paesaggio del Montefeltro, su cui l’artista dipinge mentre la luce naturale attraversa i pigmenti, trasformandoli in vetrate temporanee che mutano con le ore del giorno.
Come le rocce sedimentano storie e pressioni millenarie, anche le pennellate si sovrappongono come strati di tempo sospesi, in dialogo con il cielo e con le pietre. Durante la performance, le persone sono invitate a partecipare, lasciando un segno, una linea, un gesto: un arcipelago di tracce che affiora, si espande e si connette.
Il paesaggio retrostante, filtrato dal velo dipinto, si trasforma in paesaggio pittorico, una mappa vivente che muta con il vento e il sole, mentre le ombre delle montagne, delle torri e dei volti si fondono con i colori.
Litofanie è un rituale collettivo di attraversamento che darà il via al festival di Habitat 2025. È un invito a rallentare, a osservare come la luce attraversa il colore, come ogni segno dialoga con l’ambiente, come le isole diventano arcipelago.

"Lithophany": to show through stone. As light filters through the cracks in rocks and reveals their secret veins, so this performance by Afra Ricci transforms the painterly gesture into an act of emergence — what is hidden allows itself to be traversed, generating images in dialogue with the light and with the landscape breathing behind the veil.
Outside the tower that watches over Pennabilli, Afra invites you to experience painting as a porous membrane, a luminous threshold between interior and exterior, between rock and air, between matter and spirit. The semi-transparent fabric suspended in the air becomes a veil hung within the landscape of Montefeltro, on which the artist paints while natural light passes through the pigments, transforming them into temporary stained glass that shifts with the hours of the day.
Just as rocks sediment millennia of stories and pressures, so the brushstrokes layer over one another like suspended strata of time, in dialogue with the sky and the stones. During the performance, people are invited to take part — leaving a mark, a line, a gesture: an archipelago of traces that surfaces, expands, and connects.
The landscape behind, filtered through the painted veil, is transformed into a pictorial landscape — a living map that changes with the wind and the sun, as the shadows of mountains, towers, and faces merge with color.
Litofanie is a collective ritual of traversal that opened the Habitat 2025 festival. It is an invitation to slow down, to observe how light moves through color, how each mark speaks with its environment, how islands become an archipelago.
